Strange Sports Always Won by Europeans Not Coming to Chicago
If calling Obama's plea at Copenhagen a gigantic waste of time is tantamount to Hanoi Jane, the concept of patriotism and nationalism sort of loses all meaning. Because, not supporting Obama's cronies in Chicago from feasting on an overburdened taxpayer to construct shoddy facilities for the Olympics is hardly grounds for being a moran, IMHO. Jonn has the last word on this:
You know who really lost today? Those folks we’ve sent to Afghanistan. Out of the 15 hours the President spent in Denmark, General McCrystal got 25 minutes with him. Imagine that; all of the time he spent on getting the Olympics brought to Chicago - seven years from now (apparently three years after Obama will be out office if he keeps acting like this) - he spent twenty five minutes with the guy fighting his war for him.Oh well, highly important priorities like Ballroom Dancing will have to be done somewhere else.

The IOC is obviously racist!
I don't know about anyone else, but like the IOC, I'd much rather party in Rio than Chicago....
Ah. I must've missed the part where Obama's regularly conferring with the SecDef and theater commander. Or maybe you just forgot to put that part in.
Because clearly we want inexperienced politicians to be micromanaging operations anyway. You know, because Desert One worked out so well. Oh, our last president? Yeah, he was very "hands on." So five year in Iraq and seven years in Afghanistan, and on we go ...
What is really amazing is that this is the first South American country to host the games. I wonder if Hugo Chavez or any of the other South American pseudo dictators are going to be around in 2016.
The IOC must have been listening to the stylish tunes of Duran Duran, and not that crappy Chicago shit. A band named after a city, state, country, or continent is always terrible (Africa, Kansas, Chicago, etc.).
Don't forget Boston (the band). The song 'Amanda' is the weakest shit I ever heard.
If you guys are interested in A) guns and B) Rio, rent the DVD of "City of God." The movie itself is decent, and it's one of those movies based on a novel that's really kind of a biography.
But there's an hour-long documentary that comes with. My favorite: A cop's patting a belt-fed machine gun, saying, We love this gun and the drug dealers don't have it. Then they show a drug dealer with what appears to be a cousin of the same gun, he's patting it, saying, I love this gun, and the cops sold it to us.
Rio's the kind of place where the drug lords are probably more honest than the cops ...
Here's part of that documentary with English subtitles ... The cop actually asks whether society really wants honest cops!
LT N,
What we are missing in this event is that IOC and the world are scorning the US in a very blatant manner. This insult is to America and not to Obama.
The IOC is simply reflecting the scorn of the world.

LT,
Are you ready to put your theory on the line vs. the group, "Alabama"?
This is where the rubber meets the road. . .
Obviously GW Bush was subverted by the Chicago political machine when he announced in January 2009 that "The United States of America stands squarely behind Chicago's bid."
I'm just pissed that Nixon mocked my bids for both ballroom dancing and male synchronized swimming. I already purchased my sequined thong (two sports, one outfit).
Damn you Nixon!
