Ron Paul's Gated Community Paradise

I'm no fan of gated communities. Mostly because I enjoy having derelicts sleep on my couch. But Ron Paul's people are setting up a gated community in West Texas for "freedom and liberty lovers". Anyone want a take a stab at the ratio of dudes to chicks and how frequent the Star Trek conventions are going to be? (h/t Agitprop)

Jonestown was a gated community as I recall.

This "gated community" sounds a heck of lot like a commune out in the middle of nowhere. West Texas is kind of sparsely populated. I'm not betting on too many Star Trek conventions- the Trekkies I have known are pretty fond of their energy-guzzling gadgets.

ABWF,

Communes...the very word brings up connotations of people in robes having sex with their sister (*shudder*).

Texas is the only place left in the US that still has lots of property that does not belong to the Federal Gov. or the Indians. But beware! Texas does not tolerate weirdos for very long.

Sounds like base housing to me.

LT. N.- I guess "commune" has slightly different connotations for us. It makes me think of smelly, hairy, dope-smoking devotees of "free love". Your image is more religious cult-ish to me.
ms. Kiyum- sorry to hear it sounds like base housing to you. Hopefully you aren't anywhere quite that bad?
